HOW OLD DOES A VICTIM HAVE TO BE TO BE CONSIDERED AN ADULT CLIENT?

Clients aged 18 and older are considered adults. However, if you have a teen who is the primary victim of domestic violence (e.g. teen dating violence), you may open him or her as an adult. If the teen is not emancipated, obtain consent for services from her parent or guardian before providing more than 5 service sessions of up to 45 minutes each.
